ISLAMABAD: The punjab government has sought particulars of heart and hepatitis patients from all the hospitals of Punjab province including Rawalpindi for allocation of funds for next fiscal year 2017-18 to provid
e them medicines at their door step.
According to sources, governme
nt took the move after the rising complaints and long queues of cardiac and hepatitis patients were witnessed for purchasing the medicines at the government hospitals of Punjab.
The health experts gave a proposal that medicines should be dispatched to patients’ houses after ever
y week, fortnight or month.
The priority in first phase would be given to patients who requ
ire medicine on permanent basis, while s
econd priority would be given to patients requiring medicines on routine basis.
The Punjab government has started contacting the pharmaceutical companies and courier services so that medicines could easily be dispatched to the respective patients.
